Thirteen Bob Jones University students went on a missions trip to Antigua May 7-21. The team, led by Jonny and Kathryn Gamet, composed mostly of Journalism and Mass Communications majors, put their skills to work to impact people in that area of the world for Christ.

Twelve Bob Jones University students participated in a missions trip to Brazil May 9-24. The team was led by Bob Jones Academy faculty member Gil Fremont.

Bob Jones University recently announced the latest recipients of the BJU Legacy Scholarship. The BJU Legacy Scholarship is awarded to students who have at least one parent who graduated from BJU. The award provides up to $1,000 per year, for a maximum of $4,000 over eight semesters.

Bob Jones University recently announced the latest recipients of the BJU Academic Excellence and Leadership Award. The Academic Excellence and Leadership Award recognizes student leaders who achieve an ACT score above 25 before entering college and maintain a 3.2 GPA during their college years. The award provides up to $1,500 per year, for a maximum of $6,000 over eight semesters.

In early May, Bob Jones University announced eight students received the Christian Leadership Award given to campus leaders who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating Christian character, a consistent testimony and inspiring their peers to live a more Christlike life.

The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC) announced in late May the appointment of Marshall Franklin, the Chief Operations Officer at Bob Jones University, to an inaugural three-year term on the GADC Board.

Marie Bell, a rising college freshman who will attend Bob Jones University this fall, was recently selected as a 2013 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholar. Marie, of Hampton, GA, is one of only 20 exceptional leaders who received the honor from among more than 11,000 candidates across the country. The GE-Reagan Foundation scholarship honors the legacy of our nation's 40th president and provides $10,000 annually - up to $40,000 - toward the pursuit of a bachelor's degree.

Jordan Allen, a junior Bible major from Matthews, N.C., was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) Academic All American team. Allen is one of a select few student-athletes from across the country to be honored as an Academic All American. He is a midfielder and captain on the Bob Jones University Bruins men's soccer team. To qualify for this award, he had to maintain a 3.5 GPA.

A select number of Bob Jones University students will be listed in the 2013 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." These students were honored for academic achievement, campus leadership, service to the community, and potential for continued success. Who's Who recipients are selected from students at more than 2,000 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several foreign nations.

Evan Brondyke, a junior Health, Fitness and Recreation major from Rocky Mount, N.C. was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) Academic All American team. Brondyke is one of a select few student-athletes from across the country to be honored as an Academic All American. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA.

Abby Chetta, a junior Orchestral Performance major from Greenville, S.C., was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) Academic All American team. Chetta is one of a select few student-athletes from across the country to be honored as an Academic All American. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA.

The following students are among more than 1,500 Bob Jones University students included on the Dean's List for grades achieved during the Spring 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.0 GPA.

Ethan Simpson, a 2013 Bob Jones University graduate from Blue Springs, Mo., received third place in the 2013 Hal Leonard Vocal Competition. The competition, the only event of its kind for singers up to the ages of 23, is held through YouTube video entries. Ethan competed in the Art Song category for College/University Voices (undergraduates), ages 18-23, and received a cash prize.

Bob Jones University announced today that Ben Schipper, a 2013 BJU graduate, won a National ADDY Award.

Ethan Holmes, a 2013 Bob Jones University graduate from Hastings, Mich., received first place in the 2013 Richardson Collegiate Piano Competition held in Lansing, Mich.

More than 800 students graduated from Bob Jones University during the 86th commencement exercises recently held in Founder's Memorial Amphitorium on the Bob Jones University campus.
