BJU recently named students to the Bob Jones University Symphony Orchestra, one of two orchestras at BJU. Membership in the top-tier orchestra is by audition only, open to all students in the University regardless of major program of study.

Zeier Fleming, a freshman majoring in Business Administration at Bob Jones University, led the BJU Bruins golf team to its first tournament victory in school history at the Hiwassee College Invitational Golf Tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. Sept. 20.

Freeman Named as Staff Attorney for National Right to Work

Amanda Freeman was recently named as a staff attorney for the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation. Freeman received her BS in Administrative Management from Bob Jones University in 2005. She graduated from the Regent University School of Law in 2009 and is a member of the Virginia State Bar. While at Regent, Freeman served as managing editor of the school's Law Review and studied abroad in Strasbourg, France.

Seven Bob Jones University students traveled to Australia for a mission trip June 1-July 30. The team, led by BJU Science Division chairman George Matzko and his wife, Darlene, ministered at nine churches and a camp in Queensland and New South Wales.

BJU Students Participate in Missions Trip to Europe

Twenty-four Bob Jones University students and graduates under the leadership of Drs. William and Janie McCauley comprised the Musical Mission Team that gave concerts and Gospel messages throughout Europe May 20 - July 26. These musicians were members of a choir and instrumental ensemble that performed more than 60 concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.

Incoming members of the freshman class at Bob Jones University participated in summer orientation June 28-29. Students and their parents attended informational sessions about the BJU experience, asked questions regarding academics, financial aid and student life and became familiar with the campus. BJU Announces Recipients of BJU Legacy Scholarship

Bob Jones University recently announced the latest recipients of the BJU Legacy Scholarship. The BJU Legacy Scholarship is awarded to students who have at least one parent who graduated from BJU. The award provides up to $1,000 per year, for a maximum of $4,000 over eight semesters.

BJU Announces Recipients of Academic Excellence and Leadership Award

Bob Jones University recently announced the latest recipients of the BJU Academic Excellence and Leadership Award. The Academic Excellence and Leadership Award recognizes student leaders who achieve an ACT score above 25 before entering college and maintain a 3.2 GPA during their college years. The award provides up to $1,500 per year, for a maximum of $6,000 over eight semesters.

Marie Bell Named as 2013 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholar

Marie Bell, a rising college freshman who will attend Bob Jones University this fall, was recently selected as a 2013 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholar. Marie, of Hampton, GA, is one of only 20 exceptional leaders who received the honor from among more than 11,000 candidates across the country. The GE-Reagan Foundation scholarship honors the legacy of our nation's 40th president and provides $10,000 annually - up to $40,000 - toward the pursuit of a bachelor's degree.

Jordan Allen Named as NCCAA Academic All American

Jordan Allen, a junior Bible major from Matthews, N.C., was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) Academic All American team. Allen is one of a select few student-athletes from across the country to be honored as an Academic All American. He is a midfielder and captain on the Bob Jones University Bruins men's soccer team. To qualify for this award, he had to maintain a 3.5 GPA.

A select number of Bob Jones University students will be listed in the 2013 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." These students were honored for academic achievement, campus leadership, service to the community, and potential for continued success. Who's Who recipients are selected from students at more than 2,000 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several foreign nations.

Evan Brondyke, a junior Health, Fitness and Recreation major from Rocky Mount, N.C. was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) Academic All American team. Brondyke is one of a select few student-athletes from across the country to be honored as an Academic All American. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA.
