For their efforts in the classroom, the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named 12 Bob Jones University Bruins outdoor track & field athletes to the Scholar-Athlete team for the 2024 season. The recognition is given to student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.40 cumulative GPA and are a junior, senior or graduate student.

Bob Jones University recently named orientation leaders for the 2024 Summer Orientation events on June 21-22.

Over 650 students graduated from Bob Jones University Friday, May 3.

Several students were recognized at the annual Awards Ceremony during Commencement Week at Bob Jones University.

The following students are among over 600 Bob Jones University students named to the President's List for high academic achievement during the Spring 2024 semester. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

The following students are among approximately 800 Bob Jones University students named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2024 semester. The Dean's List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.

Johnny Pierre will join the United States Marine Corps after graduation.

Gloria Gustafson is completing an internship with BJU Press in Greenville, SC. A resident of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Gustafson observes the editorial process for textbooks for private schools and homeschoolers. She assists with the various editing and proofreading steps in the final stages of textbook production. "Interning at BJU Press has allowed me to explore a career as an editor by improving my grammar and writing skills, but has also developed me both personally and professionally," said Gustafson. "One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is that there are always opportunities to learn and improve if I look for them. Learning is a quest that requires humility, patience, and plenty of curiosity."

Ashley Henderson, a senior criminal justice major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Travelers Rest Police Department in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. A resident of New Brunswick, Canada, Henderson accompanies a police officer in daily ride-alongs as they perform routine checks and tasks. She also participates in multiple scenario training events. "This internship made me realize that I want to be a police officer," said Henderson. "I have loved every minute of my time there, and am genuinely sad it is coming to an end. I will take with me countless hours of practical experience, skills, and training I didn't possess before."

Joshua Steel, a sophomore computer science major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with SermonAudio in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Greenville, Steel is developing a full production app and providing resources for SermonAudio through sermon access and various projects. "This internship provides experience working in a small company," said Steel. "I also get to work on useful projects that will impact many people by bringing sermons and biblical teaching to them."

Jamie Kim, a senior studio art major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Karen Schipper in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Greenville, Kim packages greeting cards, sets up local market displays, collaborates with marketing and plans future art projects. "Observing behind the scenes of a local artist has taught me the importance of creating," said Kim. "I also learned the importance of staying involved in the process of marketing your own illustrations."

Megan Robertson, a senior visual arts major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Greenville, Robertson manages all communication with gallery volunteers, assists the Fine Arts Director, collaborates on loan agreements, creates thorough training materials and plans future exhibitions. "I greatly value the experience I've received from working at FPC as their Gallery Coordinator. This position has taught me how to communicate with team members, manage a gallery professionally, coordinate and lead events on site," said Robertson. "This internship has shown me how uniquely intertwined art and christian faith truly are. This job is more than just gallery coordination, it's an extension of church ministry."

Joshua Ruddy, a criminal justice major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Mount Airy, Maryland, Ruddy directly shadows an officer, aiding him in a variety of tasks and observing situations in the field. "Law enforcement is one of the most challenging careers in today's culture," said Ruddy. "I've seen the challenge. This internship gave me the opportunity to listen, learn and observe the different divisions within the Sheriff's Office."

Jessica DiLucia, a senior studio art major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with the Museum & Gallery at BJU in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Rochester, New York, DiLucia organizes activities for the Home School Days events, which involve researching the artist taught each month and brainstorming the children's activity. She also attends Art Break events and runs the merchandise table. "This internship opportunity has increased my understanding of what involved art education looks like for children who are homeschooled," said DiLucia. "Since I do not interact much with children in college, this was an excellent way to get me out of my comfort zone and expand my field of researching, learning, and teaching."

Isabel May, a senior health sciences major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Harvest, Alabama, May works under the Chief Nursing Officer by verifying proper patient safety implementations, working in the nursing department, performing audits and analyzing data regarding the health of former patients. "The experience that I have received at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital has been a valuable experience for me and my growth professionally and academically," said May. "It is helpful to observe the day-to-day operations of a hospital and to take part in those activities while working with the chief nursing officer. My experience has been beneficial in planning for my future career."

Gabriel Unger, a junior accounting major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Ernst & Young in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Greenville, Unger participates in audit fieldwork, analyzes financial data, creates and maintains work documents, communicates with clients and researches technical issues. Additionally, he tests internal controls, attends training sessions and contributes to the accuracy of financial information for clients. "The career value of this internship was immeasurable because I learned the processes, technology, techniques, and systems of public auditing, while developing professional relationships that will be useful for years to come," said Unger. "No other opportunity could forge and refine my professional, technical, and soft skills in the way this internship has. I would do it again in a heartbeat."

Hannah Lively, a senior fashion design major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Fern + Daisy based in Knoxville, Tennessee. A resident of Aiken, South Carolina, Lively works in collaboration with the owner by writing blog posts, researching competitors, performing trend analysis for upcoming seasons, helping with photoshoots and drafting tech sketches. "I appreciate the opportunity to observe and learn from a segment within the fashion industry that I haven't worked with before," said Lively. "Not only am I learning skills that will aid me in my career, but also viewing the process of research and designing from an entirely different mindset."

Several seniors at Bob Jones University have been admitted to graduate school programs according to the Bob Jones University Center for Career and Calling.

Several members of the Bob Jones University delegation to the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) were recognized with individual awards during the spring session held April 3-5, 2024, in Columbia, S.C.

Bob Jones University is proud to announce that 26 students have been awarded the prestigious Global Seal of Biliteracy, an international language certificate that recognizes and celebrates their level of proficiency in two or more languages.

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named Bob Jones University Bruins women's track & field athlete, Grace Bailey, as the National Student-Athlete of the Week.

Bob Jones University students successfully competed in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) SoutheastCon 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, held March 20-24. SoutheastCon hosts competitors from colleges and universities in 10 states and the country of Jamaica.

Aaron Stewart, a senior kinesiology major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with the BJU Division of Exercise and Sport Science in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Greenville, Stewart supervises group exercise classes, assists in fitness training practicum and serves as the lab instructor for Exercise Testing and Prescription and Advanced Concepts of Personal Training. "Interning with the Division of Exercise and Sport Science has greatly enhanced my knowledge of personal training and my ability to plan tasks and events," said Stewart. "This internship has broadened my network of professionals that can help me on my journey in this field."

Brianna McLeod, a senior communications and ministry and leadership double major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with the BJU Public Relations Department in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, McLeod writes press releases for upcoming events, organizes data, drafts achievement posts for students and communicates with faculty and staff for various communication pieces. "This internship has given me a clear opportunity to experience professional and crisis communication," said McLeod. "I'm grateful for the hard and soft skills gained within this internship, and I'm excited for opportunities resulting from my internship with the public relations department.

Yejun Park, a junior accounting major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with The Wilds office in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of South Korea, Park analyzes the organization's annual operating and financial plans. Additionally, Park manages accounting transactions and bank reconciliations. "This is a great opportunity to learn how to bloom where I am planted," said Park. "Only God knows my way."

Several Bob Jones University graphic design students received awards from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Greenville Chapter at the annual AAF Gala Saturday, Mar. 9.

Each year, the Alumni Relations Department, on behalf of the Alumni Association, forms a committee to choose the recipients of a grant called Alumni Child Tuition Aid. The grant is awarded to a current junior or senior who is a child of an alum in the Alumni Association.

Bob Jones University cinema students were recently recognized by the Intercollegiate National Religious Broadcasters (iNRB) 2024 in a virtual award ceremony.

Several students were named to the Bob Jones University Bruins track and field team for the 2023-2024 academic year.
