Walter 'Karl' Walker Named NCCAA All-American

2017 Dec 12

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named Bob Jones University Bruins men's soccer player Walter 'Karl' Walker to the All-American Teams for Division II.

"To have these players recognized as some of the best players in the country is a great honor," Bruins Head Coach Jesse McCormick said. "Karl has been a great team player so it's really good to see him recognized for his hard work and God given individual ability."

Walker, Bruins midfielder and a resident of Greenville, was a consistent force for the Bruins and was a key contributor both offensively and defensively for the team. He played in 15 matches for the team this season scoring one goal and recording one assist.

The Bruins finished the season with a 5-12-2 record and the team was eliminated from the NCCAA DII National Tournament during the pool play round. After upsetting #1 seeded Kansas Christian College 3-1 in their first match of the tournament, the Bruins tied #4 Trinity Baptist College 0-0 which gave the tiebreaker to TBC and eliminated BJU.

Bob Jones University is a member of the NCCAA and competes as a Division II institution in the South Region.
