Timothy Buttram Named to BJU Chorale

Timothy Buttram of Taylors successfully auditioned into the Chorale, the premier concert and repertoire choir at Bob Jones University.

Buttram is a junior pursuing a BA in Humanities.

The Chorale, conducted by Dr. Warren Cook, is comprised of over 50 undergraduate and graduate students from many of the university's majors. The choir performs on campus in full-length choral concerts and oratorio and opera productions. The Chorale also tours regularly, performing community concerts, conducting school music festivals, and singing in churches and schools.

The Chorale has appeared as the U.S. representative at the World Choral Festival in Seoul Korea, and was a featured performing choir at the American Choral Directors Association Southern Division Convention, and most recently was the invited demonstration choir for the 2014 SCACDA Fall Conference. The Chorale will be performing Mozart's Requiem Fri., Oct. 31 and will join with all University choirs and the BJU Symphony Orchestra to perform Handel's Messiah Dec. 12 and 13.

Warren Cook is professor of music and the director of choral activities at Bob Jones University where he conducts the University's two premiere choral organizations and oversees a graded program of 6 choirs enrolling over 250 students. Cook served for over 30 years as a Pastor of Worship and is founder and director of Greenville's Rivertree Singers.
