Sarah Thomsen Named to NCCAA DII All-American Teams

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named Bob Jones University Bruins women's basketball player Sarah Thomsen to the All-American teams for Division II. Thomsen was voted 2nd Team All-American.

Thomsen, a resident of Matthews, is a junior sports management major.

"Sarah is another one of our players that is very quiet and lets her game speak for itself," Coach LeViere said. "She is near the top if not leading the nation in three-point percentage, three-pointers made, and free throw percentage. Every opponent knows they have to concentrate on her or she will go off on them. Again, this recognition on the national level is a huge compliment to her and I am happy for her and our program to receive these awards."

Thomsen was instrumental in the Bruins success this season as she led the team in scoring and steals. Over the course of the season, Thomsen averaged 13.2 points per game while shooting 36% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. Thomsen had multiple high scoring performances on the season including a 32 point performance in a victory over Trinity College on February 3.

The Lady Bruins earned the #5 seed for the NCCAA DII National Tournament.
