Sarah Thomsen Earns All-Region Honors

The National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) named Sarah Thomsen, a member of the Bob Jones University Bruins women's basketball team, to the NCCAA DII South All-Region teams.

Thomsen, a junior sports management major from Matthews, was named 1st-Team All-Region.

"We're so proud of Sarah and thankful she is a part of our program," Bruins Head Coach Mike LeViere said. "She has worked so hard and is an essential part of our team's success. She is a wonderful lady on and off the court and I'm happy to see the other coaches in the region recognize her play."

Thomsen led the Bruins offensively on the season as the junior guard averaged 12.8 points per game while shooting 36% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. Thomsen had multiple high scoring performances on the season including a 32 point performance in a victory over Trinity College on February 3.

"Every opponent knows they have to concentrate on Sarah or she will go off on them," Coach LeViere said.

The Lady Bruins earned the #2 seed for the NCCAA DII South Region playoff and will face #3 seeded Trinity College Friday night in the semifinal round. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. in Jacksonville, Florida.
