Samuel Koenke Named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named Samuel Koenke of the Bob Jones University Bruins men's cross country team as a national student-athlete of the week.

"We're proud of Sam and how well he performed in his sport this past week," Bruins' Athletic Director Dr. Neal Ring said. "Koenke is a great representation of Christ, Bob Jones University and our athletics department."

Koenke recorded a personal best time at the Royal XC Challenge at Queens University on Saturday. The senior finished 175th overall among over 360 runners competing as he finished with a time of 27:31.4 (5:32 mile pace). Koenke had a strong showing against NCAA and NAIA competition while helping the team to place 30th of over 40 teams in the tournament field. Koenke is a senior physics major from Greer.

The Student-Athlete of the Week award is chosen by the NCCAA and recognizes the play of student-athletes in their respective sport. The Bruins compete in the NCCAA DII.
