Ryan Baisley Named to President's Club

2014 Oct 29

In the University's chapel service today, Steve Pettit, president of Bob Jones University, awarded Ryan Baisley, a junior special education major from Marysville, Michigan, the Student Worker Appreciation Award.

The Student Worker Appreciation Award is one of six President's Club awards given by the President to students at Bob Jones University.

In nominating Ryan, one of his supervisors said, "Ryan is a junior Special Education major who has served as our Printer Support Technician for the past two and a half years. Each semester Ryan works two jobs on campus to pay his school bill, and his summers are spent working at home in Michigan or serving at Southland Christian Camp in Louisiana.

Even as a freshman, Ryan eagerly took on additional responsibility and through the years he has continued to take on additional tasks, projects, and roles above and beyond his normal work responsibilities. He consistently meets and exceeds the requirements of his role and become a vital part of our team.

No matter the task, Ryan is always willing to do what is asked of him and often anticipates a need before it is voiced. He is always willing to learn a new skill, even when doing so requires redoing a task or project.

His selfless work ethic is an example of Christlikeness to the students and staff within our department and his sensitivity to God's leading is a positive spiritual influence on both students and our staff."

Students are nominated for President's Club awards by faculty, staff and their peers, and a committee selects recipients from the nominations received. In addition to recognition in a President's Club chapel, recipients have their photo displayed in the university Student Center and enjoy dinner with the president.
