Nathan MacAvoy Named to BJU's Chamber String Orchestra

Nathan MacAvoy of Williamsport has been named to Bob Jones University's Chamber String Orchestra, one of two orchestras at BJU.

MacAvoy is a senior pursuing a BS in Music Education.

All students at BJU may audition to participate in the CSO which is comprised of students and staff from a variety of departments and divisions at BJU.

"It's a joy to see these young people using their talent to play an instrument to God's glory," said Dr. Yuriy Leonovich, CSO conductor. "While they come from a wide variety of majors and backgrounds, they demonstrate incredible unity both as an orchestra and as brothers and sisters in Christ."

Dr. Leonovich earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Violoncello Performance from Cleveland Institute of Music in 2012 and was awarded the Hope and Stanley Adelstein Prize for Excellence in Composition and Performance.
