Matt DeHart Named to BJU Bruins Roster

Matt DeHart of Taylors joins five freshmen from across the country who were named to the Bob Jones University Bruins men's intercollegiate basketball team roster for the 2014-2015 academic year. These six freshmen join five starters for the Bruins.

DeHart was the starting point guard for Travelers Rest High School Devildogs. He helped lead his team to the Peach Blossom Region Championship and advanced to the Class AAA second-round playoff game. Over the course of his career, Dehart averaged 5.5 points per game while captaining the Devildog offense.

"Matt is a very vocal leader," Coach Ring said. "He has an excellent basketball IQ and is a hard worker who finds a way to contribute to the team. He is also a local talent that we are happy to have on our team."

DeHart will be majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication when classes begin at BJU September 3.

The Bruins men's intercollegiate basketball team competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) as a Division I university and they host Crown College of Powell, Tennessee for their home opener Sat., Nov. 1.
