Kaitlyn Hummel Named to All-Region Team

2016 Nov 1

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named Kaitlyn Hummel and 10 other Bob Jones University Bruins women's soccer players to their DII All-Region teams. The players were selected based on their performance throughout the season, with the final first and second team selections being voted on by head coaches in the South Region.

"We're extremely proud of each of our all-region players," Bruins head women's soccer coach Chris Carmichael said. "We have arguably the strongest region and to receive this recognition among many excellent players is a great accomplishment. They each have played a huge role in our success this season."

Hummel, a resident of Florence, was chosen as a first team All-Region player. Hummel showed great versatility in playing several positions on the pitch throughout the year.

"We're blessed to have Katie in our program this year," Coach Carmichael said. "Katie has really grown this year and we wouldn't be where we are now without her commitment to the team to making herself the best player she can be."

The Lady Bruins won the NCCAA DII South Region Championship for the second year in a row. The team will be the #1 seed for the national tournament beginning November 15 in Kissimmee, Florida.
