Joshua Rush Named Student-Athlete of the Week

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named Joshua Rush as well as two other Bob Jones University Bruins players as the national student-athletes of the week for the week of Aug. 29.

"We're very proud of our student-athletes and the way they represent Christ and the university," Bruins' Athletic Director Neal Ring said. "This recognition is a demonstration of that hard work paying off in and out of competition."

Rush, a senior engineering major from Greenville, helped to lead the men's cross country team to a first place finish in the Palmetto State Cross Country Festival on Saturday, Sept. 3, in Columbia, South Carolina. Rush finished fourth overall in the field and was one of five Bruins runners to finish in the top 15 of the meet.

The Student-Athlete of the Week award is chosen by the NCCAA and recognizes the play of student-athletes in their respective sport. The Bruins compete in the NCCAA DII.
