Jacob Brazeal Named to Bob Jones University 2017 Trumpet Choir

2017 Sep 19

The Bob Jones University music faculty has named Jacob Brazeal of Taylors to the University's Trumpet Choir.

Brazeal is a Senior majoring in Mathematics.

The Trumpet Choir is one of BJU's brass program ensembles and is comprised of music majors and minors, and a variety of other academic majors including education, engineering, and computer science. Auditions for the group are held at the beginning of each semester.

"It's a joy to work with young people who have varied interests and skills, among which is a love of trumpet that these students are continuing to nurture during their college years," said Dr. Bruce Cox, department head of Instrumental Studies and director of the BJU trumpet choir.

Each year the trumpet choir participates in a variety of performance venues which expose students to standard trumpet ensemble repertoire and provide opportunities to serve the community. This year's calendar includes a fall recital, caroling in December, performing the national anthem for the college's interscholastic sports team games, and providing music for various church services. In April, the trumpet choir will travel to North Charleston to take part in the morning services at Northside Baptist Church.
