Evy Beach Named to Bob Jones University Flute Choir

2016 Oct 17

Evy Beach of Lexington has been named to Bob Jones University's Flute Choir.

Beach is a Freshman majoring in Cross-Cultural Service.

All students at BJU are invited to audition for the University Flute Choir. Flutists are admitted to the ensemble on the basis of musical and technical ability.

"This year we are excited to welcome seven freshmen to the ensemble," said Dr. Esther Waite, who serves as director. "I consider it a privilege to work with these musicians who are investing and developing their talents for the Lord and are learning to collaborate and communicate through music."

In addition to performing a concert at BJU each semester, the Flute Choir provides its members with opportunities to play for the University Chapel and Bible Conference services, Greenville-area church music ministries, and other special events.

The University Flute Choir, founded in 1976, uses several instruments from the flute family-the standard C flute, the piccolo, and the alto and bass flutes. The ensemble provides students with experiences to hone individual performance technique, develop the necessary skills for chamber music, and minister to others through their pursuit of excellence for God's glory.
