Erin Hansen Named to BJU's Chamber Harp Ensemble

Erin Hansen of Atchison has been named to Bob Jones University's Chamber Harp Ensemble, one of over twenty instrumental performance groups at BJU.

Hansen is a sophomore pursuing a BMus in Orchestral Instrument Performance.

All students at BJU are welcome to audition during summer orientation or at the beginning of each semester. In addition to meeting audition requirements, participants are enrolled in private harp lessons.

"The harp is one of the most soothing instruments to listen to," said Mrs. Emily Waggoner, ensemble director. "I count it a privilege to assist these talented students as they improve their musical abilities to serve Jesus Christ."

The Chamber Harp Ensemble has numerous concerts scheduled including playing at Music with the Masters at the Bob Jones University Museum and Gallery. In addition, they will play in two Christmas concerts and this spring's recital will feature chamber works for harp and a performance of two works for harp and percussion newly arranged by Mrs. Waggoner and Mr. Rob Schoolfield.

Mrs. Waggoner earned a BMus in Church Music from BJU and a MMus in Harp from Converse College. She serves as President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Harp Society.
