Elizabeth Paris Named to BJU Concert Choir

2016 Oct 24

Elizabeth Paris of Trafalgar successfully auditioned into the 2016 University Concert Choir.

Paris is a Senior majoring in Communication.

The University Concert Choir is one of BJU's top five choral organizations. At the end of the academic year, singers audition for the Concert Choir, which is comprised of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. All students at BJU are welcome to audition and are placed in a choral group according to their classification and abilities.

"This is my inaugural year leading the Concert Choir, as I have been the director of the University Singers for the past six years," says Dr. Eliezer Yanson, assistant professor of music at BJU. "I am excited for this new chapter and look forward to helping develop the musical abilities God has given to each singer for God's glory."

In addition to their bi-annual concerts, the University Concert Choir will join the massed choir to sing Dan Forrest's Jubilate Deo for the University's Artist Series program in March. The Concert Choir will perform the same work at the Peace Center and Chicago Symphony Hall in the spring. The group also sings the National Anthem during some University athletic events.
