Daniel Leedy Places Second in MTNA Collegiate Brass Competition

2018 Jan 19

Daniel Leedy, a sophomore music education major at Bob Jones University, recently received second place in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Southern Division Collegiate Brass Competition at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Leedy, a resident of Greenville, won the MTNA South Carolina state competition in November. As a result, Leedy advanced to the division round, where he competed against seven other winners from states in MTNA's southern division. Each competitor performed a program demonstrating contrasting music styles and judges chose a winner, an alternate, and two honorable mentions.

"Daniel is a talented, hard-working young man," said Dr. Paul Overly, brass professor in BJU's Department of Instrumental Studies in the Division of Music. "To achieve an accomplishment like this as a sophomore is very significant. Daniel has a bright future."
