Bailey Dabbs Named to 2017 Chorale

2017 Nov 2

Bob Jones University recently named Bailey Dabbs of Great Falls to the 2017 Chorale, a 60-voice choir comprised of undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of degree programs.

Dabbs is a Junior majoring in Communication.

"The BJU Chorale is widely known for its tonal beauty and dramatic expressivity," said Dr. Warren Cook, who has served as director for 30 years. "This year, we hope to continue a long tradition of delighting audiences with excellence in choral art."

The BJU Chorale recently made its Chicago Orchestra Hall debut, where they performed Dan Forrest's Jubilate Deo. In addition, the Chorale has served as the U.S. representative at the World Choral Festival in Seoul, Korea, and has been a featured performing choir at American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education events.

The Chorale tours regularly and maintains a full performing schedule of concerts, oratorio and opera productions, as well as providing music for campus services and events. This fall, the Chorale will perform a program titled "Night Music" featuring works by Brahms, Lauridsen, Forrest, and Rheinberger and the feature selection, Eric Whitacre's haunting and soaring "Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine."
