Allyson Jenkins Named to NCCAA DII All-Region Team

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named Allyson Jenkins to the DII South All-Region women's soccer team.

Jenkins, a resident of Nappanee, is a freshman Premed/Predent major at BJU.

The defending national champion BJU Bruins team lost their bid to reclaim their title when Clearwater Christian College defeated them 1-0 in the NCCAA regional tournament Nov. 1 in Clearwater, Florida.

"Ally is a fierce competitor and has a very strong physical presence as a center back. Ally has done a spectacular job adapting to our style of play and gives us a great attacking presence as she will often penetrate through teams with her strong technical ability," said Dr. Chris Carmichael, coach of the BJU Bruins women's soccer team. "She is able to stage attacks out of the back, both indirectly and directly, and she helped keep us in every match by denying dangerous balls into the box. She has helped give our team one of the best goal against averages in the nation. Ally is a great team player and leader and very much deserving of this award."

This is the third season the BJU Bruins have participated in intercollegiate athletics.
